Joining the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund’s BLC

Holding a bachelor of arts in marketing from Concordia University, Joel Tovel also minored in international business as an undergraduate. Joel Tovel currently splits his time between his professional responsibilities and involvement with such organizations as the Business Leadership Council of the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund of San Francisco.

Serving as a way to connect Jews throughout the Bay Area, the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund encourages the Jewish community to get involved through various groups, including the Business Leadership Council (BLC). Designed for Jewish business professionals, the BLC provides members with numerous opportunities to expand their network and learn from their peers. Members can join the BLC by giving to the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, but special benefits are given to members who donate at specific BLC levels.

These two levels include the BLC 500+ and BLC 1,000+ groups. Individuals in the former level give the Federation between $500 and $999 in support of the organization’s campaign. These members are given preferred pricing for networking events and speaker panels offered by the BLC, along with access to BLC mentorship opportunities and business referral communities. BLC 500+ members are also given the chance to serve on group sub-committees and are invited to exclusive speaker sessions.

Meanwhile, individuals who belong to the BLC 1,000+ group donate at least $1,000 to the Federation. They receive the same benefits as members in the BLC 500+ level, but are also given access to the Business Leadership Breakfast. This exclusive event brings together some of the top business individuals within the local Jewish community. Further, BLC 1,000+ members can volunteer for Steering Committee leadership opportunities.
